BUILT FOR PERFORMANCE

Inkwell uses libarchive directly through native code to extract pages from CBR and CBZ archives without unpacking the whole file. Pages are cached and prefetched in the background so swiping stays fluid even on large 200MB+ archives.

PDF rendering uses the system PDF engine. EPUB support handles chapter navigation and reflowable content.

PERMISSIONS

Inkwell needs the "All files access" permission so it can read comic and book files stored anywhere on your device, including external SD cards and folders you manage with your own tools. The app does not upload, share, or transmit any of your files. You can verify this yourself: Inkwell does not request the Internet permission.
