Smarter Library

Smarter Library is a private, local-first library for the files you choose and the notes you write. It helps you understand, organise, find, and rediscover what matters — without an account, a cloud service, or uploading anything.

What you can do:
• Choose your own sources: enable Downloads or pick folders with the Android file picker. Nothing is scanned until you allow it, and every source can be revoked.
• Keep files where they are: Smarter Library catalogues in place. It never copies, moves, uploads, or deletes your files.
• Organise your way: shelves, tags, pins, saved views, and notes that live alongside your files. The free version includes one automatic shelf and two saved views.
• Find things fast: full-text search across your library, plus filters that work without any AI.
• Read and play in the app: documents, images, audio, and video, or open them in another app.
• Spot waste: duplicate detection shows what you are storing twice.
• Rediscover: gentle resurfacing brings back documents and items you have not looked at.
• Back up and restore your library data when you need to.
• Offline mode and clear privacy controls, always available.

Smarter Library Pro (one-time purchase):
• Ask questions about your library with a local language model.
• Ask about exactly what you are reading: tap selected PDF text or a supported passage, section, slide, table row, publication block, or transcript line to summarise, explain, or ask a question. Add more passages when needed, then continue the same sourced conversation in Ask.
• Generative summaries and tags from a model running on your device.
• Transcribe audio and video on your device.
• Semantic search that finds items by meaning, not just words.
• Image descriptions and image tags.
• Unlimited automatic shelves and saved views.

Everything above runs on your device. Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and the free library is fully usable without it.

Privacy:
Smarter Library does not upload your files, notes, filenames, folder paths, search queries, or anything generated from them. There is no cloud AI and no account. Optional Google ML Kit features process their input on this device; Google's terms note that ML Kit may contact Google for models, fixes, and compatibility information and sends limited performance metrics. Offline mode blocks new network requests started by Smarter Library.
