The Last Word is an AI-powered detective and deduction game. Play solo on your phone or pass it around with friends. Interrogate witnesses, guess hidden words, and close cases in a noir-style transcript - powered by Google Gemini when you enable AI tools in Settings.

HOW IT WORKS

GUESS THE WORD - Classic 20 Questions with AI. Pick a category; the game hides a secret word. Ask yes/no questions (and "not applicable" when it fits). Make your final guess when you are ready.

STORY DETECTIVE - Full case files: setting, suspects, and witness dialogue. Ask specific questions, inspect clues, accuse the right suspect, or surrender when you are stuck.

DARK TALES - Interactive horror stories led by a narrator. Choose your action - there is no going back. The ending remembers every decision.

SPEED ORACLE - 60-second rounds: read the case note, listen to live testimony, mark lines that contradict the file, then accuse or declare innocent. Requires a detective license via Google Play Games.

Family-friendly case packs use a wholesome tone (no graphic violence). Noir packs tell crime stories in text - tense, but not gory on screen.

Roleplay Mystery and more modes may roll out in future updates - some require progress or Detective's Pass.

WAYS TO PLAY

SOLO - You vs the AI. Enable AI in Settings (internet required for cloud replies).

LOCAL PARTY - 2–8 players, one device, hot-seat turns. Currently: Guess the Word only.

ONLINE MULTIPLAYER - Coming soon.

DIFFICULTY

ROOKIE - Free hints. Easier pacing.
DETECTIVE - Standard interrogation.
INSPECTOR - Tighter question budgets on many cases.
NOIR MASTER - For experienced detectives.

Question limits depend on the case (typically 8–25). Difficulty affects hints, XP, and how cagey witnesses sound.

LOOK AND FEEL

Noir-inspired typography and a chat-style case transcript. Light and dark-friendly UI. Optional typing sounds (modern keyboard or typewriter).

VOICE AND LANGUAGES

Google speech recognition on device (no extra subscription for voice typing). Switch to text anytime. App UI and cases support multiple languages including English and Polish.

PRIVACY AND SAFETY

- No account required to start
- Optional AI opt-in - your questions are sent to Google's AI service when enabled
- AI prompts aim to block gore, sexual content, and real-world tragedy
- Ads on the free plan (removed with Detective's Pass). Consent dialog where required (GDPR / UMP)
