SMS & Call Log Backup
SMS and call log permissions are used only when you choose to use the related backup or restore feature.
You can review available SMS conversations or call log entries and select what you want to save before starting a backup.
For SMS restoration, Android requires the app to temporarily become the default SMS app. The app explains this requirement before taking you to Android's default SMS settings. Once the restore is complete, you can switch back to your preferred messaging app.
The app does not place calls, act as a dialer, monitor communications in the background, or use SMS and call log information for advertising, marketing, profiling, analytics, or credit decisions.
Note: SMS backup and restore currently supports SMS messages only. MMS is not supported at this time.
Photos, Videos & Files
Back up your important photos, videos, documents, archives, APK files, audio files, and other supported files.
Media access is used to find the content you select, calculate backup sizes, create backups, restore files, and support scheduled backups.
File access is limited to supported shared-storage files. The app does not access Android/data or Android/obb folders.

Apps backup saves app information only. It does not back up app-private data, passwords, credentials, cache, or the actual data stored inside installed apps.

Permissions are requested only when you use a feature that needs them. Backup content is used to create, display, manage, and restore your backups.
Your SMS messages, call history, contacts, filenames, photos, videos, and backup files are not sold and are not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or credit decisions.
When you choose Google Drive, your backups are stored in the Google Drive account you authorize. You can manage your available backups and restore them whenever needed.
