DISH Anywhere lets eligible DISH subscribers take their favorite TV channels, live sports, recorded programs, movies, and shows on the go. Stream live content from a compatible Hopper receiver, manage and schedule DVR recordings, and access thousands of On Demand titles from your Android phone or tablet.
Download purchased shows and movies for offline viewing, follow favorite teams, and receive up-to-the-minute scores and game information for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NCAAB, and NCAAF. The app requires a MyDISH account, with Hopper with Sling or Hopper 3 required for Live TV and DVR streaming. Select Live TV and On Demand content may be available without a supported receiver.
Users praise DISH Anywhere for portability and easy navigation, enabling travel viewing and quick access to content. However, multiple reviews highlight reliability and DVR problems: crashes, streaming disruptions, and recordings not saving. Playback performance is often slow or unresponsive, and channel availability can be inconsistent with missing channels. Scheduling UI gaps also appear. Overall, strong demand for on-the-go viewing and simplicity, with significant room for improvement in reliability and DVR features.
Local channel availability and broad content access
All-in-one mobile app for watching shows on phone/tablet
Cons
Frequent crashes / app closes and unstable streaming
DVR recording issues (cannot set recordings; recordings not saved; DVR loading failures)
Poor playback performance (long load times and slow or unresponsive fast-forward)
Missing channels / channel lineup problems (e.g., FOX not available, KCTV5 missing)
Scheduling UI gaps / incomplete guidance (e.g., not showing channel names or schedule details)

been with dish for over 20yrs and the product manager should be fired for release this buggie app. just got the update for this newest version and let's see, now my locals load but you stare at a frozen screen and now dish decided to block screenshot for your whole device, instead of b4 when it was a blacked out of the image. plus now you can only see 3 channels at once when viewing the guide and when you search for on-demand they took away functionality to sort by "ondemand" vs "airing"
