Review summary

Evolve: Workout Coach is praised for its effective training programs, customization options, and affordability compared to similar apps. Users appreciate the AI's adaptability and the inclusion of nutrition tracking. However, common issues include frequent crashing, slow performance, and poor customer service. The nutrition features need improvements, and subscription management is complicated with inconsistent pricing. Some users view the app as a replica of other AI workout apps, diminishing its uniqueness. Overall, while the training aspect is strong, technical and service problems hinder user experience.
Pros
  • The app provides effective workout programming and helps users progress beyond plateaus.
  • It includes nutritional tracking features which some users find useful alongside the workout coaching.
  • The app allows customization such as adjusting rep ranges, volume, and switching between different training styles like powerbuilding and powerlifting.
  • It offers good value for money compared to similar AI-based workout apps.
  • The AI adapts to individual users' needs and weak points over time, improving workout personalization.
Cons
  • The app is frequently reported to be slow, unresponsive, and prone to crashing, severely impacting usability.
  • There is a lack of customer support and poor communication, especially around subscription cancellation and refund requests.
  • Users find the nutrition tracking feature incomplete or difficult to navigate, with issues saving scanned food items.
  • Price discrepancies exist between subscribing via the app and website, causing confusion and perceived deception.
  • The app is criticized for being a reskinned or nearly identical copy of another popular app (Juggernaut AI) with minimal differences.

it's a fantastic app but missing some features that I would like to see. The primary one would be an options menu from the workout menu. while I'm in a workout I want to be able to easily switch between kg and lb options and would also like to be able to see how an exercise is performed. Otherwise I really like that I can track macros and stuff in the app and I like being able to add sets if I feel I need more volume.

App has potential, but there are no updates and so many little things they could improve but don't. Feels like no one is working on this app anymore. Disappointing.

Great app, has helped a lot in my training, made life easier. A little slow at times but overall I have no complaints.

The app is a bike jenky. The nutrition function was a good idea, but it doesn't save the food items I scanned, assuming that item is in the system, which more often it is not. One big problem is that the app logged me off spontaneously. Since I don't remember my password, I had to go home from the gym to reset my password.

Stay away from this app! I signed up, answered the question only to discover you need to self select your workout routine. I wanted an app that would auto generate my workout routines based on the answers I submitted. I signed up 3 days ago. when I contacted Evolve to cancel during the cooling off period I did not receive any emails nor can I see previous messages I submitted requesting a refund and no further payments. no one has responded.

Loving the app for programming and tracking progress in the gym. The longer you use it the more the AI can adapt to your needs and weak points. The nutrition side needs a bit of work to make it easier to navigate. Nutritionix Tracker is great to pair alongside EvolveAI. I would love to see a page on the app where you can see your progress in individual exercises and what your next workout looks like (sets/reps/resistance). Would recommend!

I completed Evolve 34 weeks program doing the powerbuilding program. It had a lot of volume with lots of accessory exercise. The volume can be overwhelming doing the hypertrophy phase but you learn to adjust with lots of exercises at your disposal. You are able to make changes within the app. For instance changing your rep rage or from powerbuilding to powerlifting. I did not make any changes but it's there. I can say it did me wonders with my physique. Sign up online its cheaper. Thanks!!

The app is slow and unresponsive, the nutrition side is lacking, and the overall design is ugly and poorly finished. The only reason this isn't a 1-star review is because the price is reasonably competitive against the similar JuggAI app - the underlying program is more or less the same, except for some quality of life features. My opinion? They should focus on having a solid training app before expanding to nutrition. Smooth out the edges, and this would be the best cost-benefit in the business

Very good. Can I suggest some changes that would greatly help, please add a little text that shows how much weight we did on our last similar exercise (as it is so clunky going to the previous week and finding my last bench day for example). And second, please group the same body part exercises together on the day program, it's so annoying to think I've finished exercising chest only to see a chest exercise further down.

Great app for training. I have been able to progress above and beyond plateaus by just following an app. This app has taken the stress out of programming allowing me to focus on others aspects of life while still improving in the gym. It's a little slow but I've noticed that it has gotten faster with time and new features have been rolled out during my use. Thanks
