Features & Capabilities

Sing2Notes - Sheet from Vocals is a Chrome extension designed to transcribe your solo singing recorded via microphone into sheet music. It converts audio recordings into classical music scores, allowing you to playback the transcription and download it as PDF, MIDI, or MusicXML formats. Sharing your musical creations with friends is easy and seamless.

This extension runs on a powerful cloud server to process frequency analysis for accurate transcription, accessible via user account ensuring privacy and accessibility across devices. While it currently supports only solo vocal recordings and does not offer live note detection or multi-instrument separation, it provides useful suggestions based on input quality. The free version allows microphone and YouTube transcriptions up to 40 bars, while premium users unlock full-length sheets and file uploads.

Perfect for musicians, composers, and music students, Sing2Notes simplifies the process of converting vocal performances into editable, shareable sheet music on the go and through its desktop companion app.

User Reviews

User reviews are highly polarized. A minority say the app works and can generate sheet music from singing, especially with the free version. However, most users report reliability and accuracy problems: frequent failures to upload/transcribe, incorrect notes and timing, and even corrupted files. Several critics also flag expensive premium pricing and weak UX/UI. Overall, the app shows potential in ideal conditions but suffers from pervasive reliability and accuracy issues that undermine its usefulness.

Pros

Can generate sheet music and transcriptions from singing when it works.
Positive experience with the free version; described as brilliant by some users.
Some reviewers find the app reasonably accurate in certain cases (notably "pretty accurate" listings).
Can reduce the effort of composition by providing sheet music from voice in favorable scenarios.
Occasional positive remarks like "it's really helpful for singing and transcriptions" indicate potential usefulness when functioning.

Cons

Frequently unreliable or non-functional; many reviews say it doesn't work or crashes.
Transcriptions often inaccurate (notes, timing, chords) and may be far from the intended melody.
Uploads/recordings can fail or produce errors; reports of file corruption messages.
Premium pricing is seen as overpriced or not worth it given reliability issues.
Poor UX/UI and questionable implementation (e.g., described as a wrapper of a website).

Recent reviews

love this app! Very easy to use transcribed a 3 minute vocal demo in 3 minutes, without paying you only get the first 20 seconds the only thing that is preventing my 5th star is the fact that you cannot change or adjust any transcribed lyrics without a desktop... I assumed it may be an app disadvantage and tried logging onto the website on my tablet but unfortunately I cannot change the 1 mistake I found re-reading the 3 minute transcription... the app would be near perfect otherwise.
