User Reviews

Reviews are mixed. Many users praise Shuttle for strong offline playback, a clean UI, and generally solid Android Auto support, with fast, easy playback. However, recurring concerns center on pricing and trial practices, missing features and parity with older versions, occasional Android Auto issues, reliability quirks with certain files, and inconsistent search results. Some users report fixes after updates, while others remain frustrated by ongoing limitations. Overall, core playback and design are solid, but policy and feature gaps drive much of the negative feedback.

Pros

Excellent offline playback capability and reliability for local music.
Clean, attractive UI with material design.
Android Auto support is generally solid and improving.
Simple, fast, and easy-to-use playback.

Cons

Aggressive pricing model with hidden or upsell-heavy trials.
Android Auto playback issues reported (silent playback, no items), though updates have addressed some.
Missing features and lack of parity with legacy version (playlist export/import options).
Reliability issues with certain files or library items (some songs won't play; empty albums/playlists).
Inconsistent search results.

shuttle+ was abandoned for this, which costs £5.99 and has less customisation for how you view your music library.

it's a mess of the library because everything gets jumbled together into categories of songs, genres, albums, artists, and playlists. I do not see an option for folder hierarchy view so you can browse your organized mess. if you have a very small library then it might be okay. IF you have a large library, then it's like tossing thousands of files into one folder and wanting to sort through it.
