SignalCheck is a clean, honest network diagnostic tool for everyday users. No router access. No account. No sign-up. Everything stays on your device.

SignalCheck measures and reports — it never modifies your network, and it makes no "boost your ping" or "optimize your speed" claims. Just accurate readings, clearly presented, whether you're a network engineer or you just want to know why the video keeps buffering.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Live Signal Meter — A radial gauge shows your WiFi signal quality in real time, updating every few seconds. The color shifts as signal changes: teal for excellent, amber for fair, red for weak.

• Room Signal Heatmap — Walk your home room by room and build a color-coded coverage map that shows exactly where your WiFi is strong and where it drops off. Rooms are yours to define, rename, and remove.

• One-Tap Diagnosis — Run a full network check in about five seconds: connectivity, signal quality, latency to public DNS servers, DNS resolution time, and public IP — all at once, with a plain-language verdict you can share.

• Ping / Latency Tester — Send TCP probes to any host or IP. Pick a probe count, choose a preset target (1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8, 9.9.9.9, google.com, apple.com) or type your own. See min, average, max, packet loss, and jitter as results stream in live.

• DNS Resolver Race — Enter a hostname and race five public resolvers side by side — Cloudflare, Google, Quad9, OpenDNS, and AdGuard — to see which resolves fastest.

• Signal History — A live chart of your signal quality over the session, with min/avg/max readouts and a timestamped feed of every reading.

• Public IP & Network Details — See your public IP, ISP, approximate city, local IP, and gateway at a glance.

BUILT ON HONEST PRINCIPLES

• No backend. The app has no proprietary server. Every network call is one you explicitly start.
• No telemetry, no analytics, no advertising SDKs, no trackers.
• All your readings (signal history, ping results, heatmap) are stored only on your device.
• Diagnostic tool only — SignalCheck reads and reports. It never changes your device or network settings.

WHY LOCATION PERMISSION?

Android requires the Location permission before any app can read your WiFi network name (SSID). SignalCheck uses it only for that purpose. Your physical location is never read, stored, or transmitted.

A NOTE ON MEASUREMENTS

Measurements are best-effort estimates made with the techniques available to a normal app (TCP handshake timing, system network APIs, public HTTP endpoints). They may differ from readings taken by privileged tools with root access, and that's expected — the app always shows what it's actually measuring.
