Private Screenshots is a Chrome extension designed to capture screenshots discreetly, preventing chat apps from detecting when you take a screenshot. Unlike traditional screenshot tools, this extension saves images directly to a hidden directory, ensuring they remain confidential and inaccessible by other apps.

The extension works by launching a special 'presentation' mode that captures screen content without triggering notification broadcasts. Users simply start the capture mode, grant necessary permissions, and use a draggable screenshot button to save images securely. It also supports quick actions like shortcuts in the Quick Settings drawer for Android devices.

Note: The extension does not support protected content such as Netflix, Chrome incognito sessions, banking apps, or private Telegram chats, where the screen capture will be blocked or result in a black screen. Overall, it offers an effective and private way to manage screenshots without alerting other app users or compromising privacy.
