World maps (Mercator projection) depict countries larger than their actual size as you move toward higher latitudes. This is why Greenland appears as large as Africa, and Europe looks grander than it actually is. "Understanding the Republic of Korea" is an educational app that removes this distortion and allows you to intuitively compare the true size of South Korea with various other countries around the world.

■ What You Can Do

· Select the border of South Korea on the map and drag it over a desired country; the size will be automatically corrected to match the map distortion of the latitude you arrive at.

· Select a country to compare with Korea, and it will display a detailed 1:1 comparison using a bar graph showing the actual area (km²) and the ratio difference.

· Provides data for the border of South Korea, including Jeju Island, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo, as well as data for 177 countries worldwide.

■ Features

· Country boundary and area data are embedded in the app, allowing country comparisons to function without an internet connection. (Background map tiles are loaded from online.)

· It does not collect any personal information, such as location or contact details.

· No ads, completely free.
