Thallo® is a non-pharmacological psychosocial intervention aimed at the elderly and people living with dementia. It was developed by Notis Paraskevopoulos and Konstantina Maltezou through many years of contact with the elderly and people living with dementia, studying their needs, daily life and desires, with the aim of developing a method that will concern each person separately, regardless of the stage of dementia, and can be adapted to different groups, inside and outside the nursing home environment. Thallo® is a combination of communication and recreational activities that are implemented through the Principle of Associative Thinking, and are adapted to the dynamics and needs of each group of beneficiaries with the aim of their active and not passive participation. The aim is not only entertainment but also to encourage the development of relationships of trust and extroversion.
