Searchwordie - Word Search

Searchwordie is a clue-first word search game where the list gives you clues, not the words to find. Work out an answer, spot it in the 9x9 letter grid, then trace it in a straight line. That makes it a word search with clues in the literal sense: you solve before you scan. The extra step turns the scan into a small test of general knowledge.

Most boards hide about fifteen hidden words across all eight directions, including backwards and diagonally. There is no countdown, and a wrong trace costs nothing. These word search puzzles can put the grid above the clues or the clues first, so settle into a board while the coffee is still warm.

Choose a themed word search when you want more than the daily. A History word search can lead into Geography, Movies, Music, Food, Technology or Cryptic category. There are sixteen topic categories in all. Levels unlock in order, and no answer repeats within a topic: early boards use everyday words, later ones dig into rarer territory and are worth more points.

The daily word search is there when you want one board with your coffee. Finish it to build a streak and work toward the Monday-to-Sunday weekly goal. Miss a day? Older daily boards remain available in the archive, and your progress stays with you.

Stuck on one clue? A hint reveals the whole answer and costs half that word's points; you still trace it yourself. Most answers also uncover a short encyclopedia entry with a picture. It is an easy way to follow a surprising clue a little further after the board is done.

Themed boards and bilingual packs offer different ways to play. In bilingual packs, clues appear in one language and their translated answers are hidden in the grid in another.

Make the screen comfortable for the moment. Choose light or dark mode, or follow the system theme; select one of four text sizes; reorder topics; and pin up to five quick-play tiles for easy access.
