PRESSUREALERT® Pressure Monitoring System is a medical device using a patented technology system to aid in the prevention of pressure injuries/ulcers at an at-risk area on the body, usually over a bony prominence, by monitoring pressure. PRESSUREALERT® Pressure Monitoring System also increases healthcare provider compliance with patient repositioning. The PRESSUREALERT® Pressure Monitoring System works like this: A dressing that is fitted with a pressure sensor sends wireless signals to a bedside tablet or nursing station, which applies our proprietary algorithms, and alerts the healthcare provider when pressures reach levels that could result in tissue damage. By notifying the healthcare provider in real-time, via wireless signal, the patient can be repositioned thereby alleviating tissue damaging pressure and preventing a pressure injury from occurring. There are 11 possible at-risk areas on every patient (supine position/laying on the back): Skull, upper spine prominence (between the shoulder blades), sacrum (tailbone), left/right ischium (buttock bones), left/ right hip, left/right elbow, left/right heel. The device is intended for use in professional healthcare facilities including hospitals, independent living communities, assisted living facilities, long-term care facilities, and rehabilitation facilities.
