Page & Hour: Journal Planner

Page & Hour is a handwriting bullet journal and daily planner for Android phones and tablets.

Start a yearly, monthly, weekly or daily spread and write on it with your finger or a stylus. The layouts are guides drawn on the page, so you can write anywhere on them. Pick Blank, Simple or Complex for each page, and turn from one page to the next like a paper notebook.

TODAY
On a first launch with an empty journal, the app makes this month, this week and today and opens today's page with the pen out. Yesterday and Tomorrow are one tap away, and the page list has a Today row. To move something to another day, circle it with the lasso, tap Move and pick the date. A > mark stays where it was, and Undo puts it back.

ON A PHONE
Day pages made on a phone have one row per hour, from 07 to 21, and a Notes band. Tap an hour to zoom that row and write with your finger; Next row moves down the day. Tablets keep A4 day pages.

WRITE
Nine pens: ballpoint, fineliner, ink pen, brush pen, pencil, marker, highlighter, crayon and watercolor, each with its own width and opacity. Eighteen ink colors plus a mixer for your own. An eraser, undo, and a lasso that moves what you wrote.

TYPE AND DECORATE
Text boxes in six fonts. Sticky notes in eleven colors with plain, lined, grid or dot paper, which you can write or type on. Eight built-in stickers, photos from your library, stickers made from your own images, and stickers you draw in the app.

FIND A PAGE
The page list shows every page in notebook order with a picture of each and opens at today. Filter it to daily, weekly, monthly or yearly pages. On a tablet it is a grid.

SET UP A NOTEBOOK
Pick a date range and the spreads you want, and the app makes the pages. Save a page's text, sticky notes, stickers and photos as a template and reuse them.

TOOLS ON ANY EDGE
The tools start along the top. Drag their handle to move them to the left, right or bottom edge. Focus mode hides them until you need them.

SHARE A PAGE
Send any page as an image or a PDF through the share sheet.

SUPPORTER
An optional one-time purchase adds six spreads (habit grid, future log, year in pixels, reading log, goals, and a week of meals with a shopping list), five paper colors and five app colors. You can make one Habit grid page free and keep it. Pens, templates, stickers, photos and sharing are free without it.

WHERE YOUR JOURNAL IS KEPT
Your pages are stored on this device, and there is no account. The app goes online to check the Supporter purchase and to send anonymous step counts: the app name, the name of a step such as opening the app, and the app version (for the Supporter screen, also where it was opened from), nothing else. Nothing you write is sent. A switch in About turns the counts off. There is no sync between devices and no whole-journal export. Android's own backup may include the journal if backup is turned on, but Android skips an app whose data passes 25 MB, and photos can reach that. Do not count on it to move your journal to a new phone. To keep a copy of a page, share it as a PDF.
