Features & Capabilities

BrickController 2 is a versatile Chrome extension that enables you to control your LEGO MOCs (My Own Creations) seamlessly using Android-compatible gamepads. It supports a wide range of receivers including SBrick and SBrick Plus, BuWizz versions 1, 2, and 3, Powered-Up HUB, Boost HUB, Technic HUB, and Power Function infrared receivers (on devices with infrared emitters).

While BrickController 2 offers extensive compatibility, users should be aware of known issues such as port swapping on certain BuWizz 2 devices and profile load/save limitations on Android 10 and above. As a hobby project, the extension is continuously evolving, though updates and new features may be limited due to resource constraints. Nevertheless, it provides a powerful tool for LEGO enthusiasts looking to bring their creations to life through intuitive gamepad controls.

User Reviews

Overall, users praise the app for ease of use and versatile controller mapping, plus strong support for BuWizz and Control+ and its value for LEGO MOC builders. Recurring negatives involve limited compatibility with some third-party hubs, occasional detection/scanning/connection issues, privacy/permission concerns, and a desire for better documentation and broader off-brand hardware support.
Pros
  • Easy to use and easy to map multiple controllers (Xbox/PS4/Switch) to LEGO builds
  • Good support for various controllers and third-party hubs (BuWizz, Control+)
  • Widely praised as the industry standard for LEGO MOC builders and often preferred over the official app
  • Works well with older LEGO creations
  • Offers broad versatility and power for LEGO enthusiasts
Cons
  • Inconsistent compatibility with some third-party hubs/devices (e.g., Circuit Cubes, Mould King, newer Porsche hub)
  • BuWizz 2.0 firmware updates can break detection and cause connectivity issues
  • Privacy/permissions concerns related to location data and access to private data
  • Device discovery/connection stability problems (scanning errors, inability to scan after successful initial use)
  • Lack of comprehensive in-app documentation and limited support for off-brand hardware

great app, loved it but a few days ago i wanted to play with some old models again, uodated my buwizz controller and since that, it can't find my buwizz2 hubs anymore my buwizz3 hub and the lego hub are still detected and work perfectly fine though. looking forward to an update

Great app. It makes you wonder why Lego chooses to stick with an app with such horrible latency, when apps like this one exist and work so much better.
