Periyar Matric. Hr Sec. School

The Periyar Nagar Government Servants Co-operative House Sites Distribution Society started Periyar English Nursery and Primary School in June 1981, considering the lack of proper Educational facilities in those days.
Later for the proper conduct and administration of the school an Educational and Charitable Society named the Periyar Nagar Educational and Charitable Society was formed which comes under the control of the Registrar of Societies, Chennai North.

The School was eventually transferred to the Periyar Nagar Educational and Charitable Society which administer the School.

The Management of the school steadily raised the school to the level of Matriculation school in 1992 with due recognition of Govt. of Tamil Nadu. It could be said with pride that the school was upgraded to that Higher Secondary School during the academic year 1996-97 with due recognition from the Director of School Education, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
