A+Comp

A+Comp is an educational application created to support the development of Computer Science skills in Basic Education, in an interactive, collaborative, and gamified way.

In the application, students and teachers can participate in a digital environment with publications, activities, interactions, validations, challenges, and mini-games related to the Computer Science content foreseen in the BNCC (Brazilian National Curriculum).

A+Comp offers features such as:

• collaborative feed for sharing content and activities;

• educational mini-games focused on developing Computer Science skills;

• tracking of progress, attempts, successes, and completed phases;

• system of coins, rewards, and unlocks for pedagogical purposes;

• avatar customization and acquisition of virtual items;

• likes, validations, and other forms of interaction between participants;

• notifications about new publications and activities;

• accessibility features, such as text-to-speech;

• moderated environment, with safety guidelines and responsible use.

The content and activities of A+Comp cover topics such as data types, algorithms, problem-solving, decomposition, and other fundamentals of Computer Science.

The coins, rewards, and items available in the application are purely virtual, have no financial value, and cannot be converted into real money or products.

Access to A+Comp is via a Google account and may require an authorization code provided by the project team.

The application was developed in the context of doctoral academic research and has an exclusively educational and scientific purpose. Participation in the research is voluntary and, in the case of underage students, must occur with the authorization of the legal guardian and the student's consent, according to applicable ethical procedures.

A+Comp does not contain advertisements, purchases with real money, or commercial purposes.

To protect participants, the application has mechanisms for moderation, content reporting, inappropriate language filtering, and guidelines to prevent users from sharing personal information or sensitive data.

By using A+Comp, participants contribute to building a collaborative learning environment where computing, creativity, problem-solving, and social interaction are integrated in an educational way.
