Morse — Send Messages with Light, in Morse Code

Morse is an app for exchanging Morse code with light, using your smartphone's flashlight, screen glow, and camera.

Type some text and it converts to Morse code and blinks your LED; point your camera at someone else's flashing flashlight or screen and it turns the signal back into text on the spot. You don't need to memorize the Morse chart — just trace the blinks you see and you can send and receive. It's a light-based communication tool for learning, emergency preparedness, and tech demos.

■ Key Features

【Flashlight Transmission】
Converts the text you enter into Morse code and blinks it out with your device's LED flashlight. Instead of sending once, it loops (repeating with a 3-second pause in between) so the receiver can sync up even mid-stream. Choose a transmission speed of 8 / 13 / 20 WPM, and the symbol currently lighting up is highlighted on screen.

【Screen Transmission】
For devices without an LED flashlight, the whole screen flashes black and white to send Morse code. Brightness is maximized so you can still transmit with light even without a flash.

【Camera Reception】
Reads someone else's flashing flashlight or screen in real time through the camera and converts it back to text. It analyzes only the brightness inside the central reticle (ROI), so it's less affected by ambient lighting or sunlight, and pinch-to-zoom lets you lock onto distant light sources.

【Tap Reception】
A manual decoding feature for when the camera can't be used. Just press the screen while the light is on — a short press is a "·" and a long press is a "−," and the app automatically assembles the Morse code from your press durations and intervals. No need to memorize the Morse chart.

【Morse Conversion】
Supports two-way conversion: text to Morse and Morse to text. Timing is based on the PARIS standard (dot length = 1200 / WPM milliseconds), faithfully reproducing the gaps between dots, dashes, letters, and words.

【History Management】
View your sent and received records in chronological order. Filter by "All / Sent / Received," and each record shows the text, Morse code, and timestamp. You can also resend directly from your history.

【SOS Transmission (Emergency Mode)】
With a single tap, it loops the international distress signal "··· −−− ···" indefinitely. Choose between flashlight or screen flashing so you can signal to suit the situation.

■ Design
Built on a dark base with a glowing signal-lab aesthetic. Transmission is colored amber and reception cyan, so the code of light is clear at a glance.

■ Before You Use
・Flashlight transmission requires an Android device equipped with an LED flashlight. On devices without one, please use Screen Transmission.
・Camera reception requires camera permission.
・Reception accuracy varies with conditions such as ambient brightness, distance from the light source, and transmission speed.
・The SOS feature is only a supplementary signaling option. In an actual emergency, please use it together with official rescue means.
