Vitalab is a holistic digital health companion that allows you to monitor and manage certain physiological parameters in real time, such as:

* Heart rate: the number of heartbeats per minute
* Heart rate variability: the variability of your heartbeats, reflecting the capacity of your nervous system to adapt
* Breathing rate: the number of breaths per minute
* Breathing rate variability: the variability of your breathing, related to your ability to focus and your emotional state
* Synchrony: the regularity of your heart-variability rhythm, which correlates with your heart-brain connection

A Tool to Balance Your Energies

* Vitalab provides mindful-breathing biofeedback that helps balance your energy, whether your goal is calming or boosting.
* A Breathing Score is computed in real time to indicate your balancing capacity.

Holistic Metrics
===============================================
* Vitalab computes your Energy Balance score, which reflects the balance of your body and mind.
* Energy Balance is a number between –100% and 100%, depending on your level of relaxation or stress at the time of measurement. A good balance is typically around 0.

Eastern Energy Systems
===============================================
* Vitalab offers an alternative view of your health by computing Eastern-energy metrics correlated with the Indo-Tibetan three-energy model known as the Doshas and Humors.
* Prana or Qi is quantified through a measure of your nervous system activity and its ability to maintain a smooth flow.
* To help you better understand these three energies, Vitalab provides a self-assessment questionnaire to determine your baseline constitution.
* The Vitalab three-energy readings are estimates only. A precise assessment should always be performed by a qualified Eastern-medicine practitioner.

* Vitalab is not a medical device, and the creators disclaim responsibility for any misuse of the app, sensors, or health metrics derived from them.
* Avoid movement during measurements. Slow movements may be acceptable when using the wearable arm sensor.
* Although the Doshas and Tibetan Humors share similarities, they are not identical.
