Drywall Calculator helps you work out, in seconds, how much drywall (plasterboard / Sheetrock) and finishing material a room needs — boards, screws, joint compound and tape. It works completely offline and nothing you enter ever leaves your phone.

HOW IT WORKS
Tell the app your room's length, width and height. It calculates the wall area as the perimeter times the height, and can add the ceiling with a single switch. Subtract the area of doors and windows, set a wastage allowance, and pick your board size — the sheet count and material list update instantly.

1. Net area = wall area (and optional ceiling) minus the openings you subtract.
2. Area to cover = net area plus your wastage allowance (10–15% is typical).
3. Sheets = the area to cover divided by one board's area, always rounded up.
4. Finishing materials scale from the boarded area and sheet count.

ESTIMATES USED
• Screws: about 32 per sheet on 16-inch framing
• Joint compound: about 0.05 lb per square foot for taping and finish coats
• Joint tape: about half a linear foot per square foot of board
These are sensible starting points; your real needs depend on the sheet layout, framing spacing and how openings fall.
