SAFEST Patients App

SAFEST is a mobile app designed to improve patient safety in surgical care across
Europe. The app allows you to provide valuable feedback based on your surgical

experience by completing two surveys: one before and after surgery, and another post-
surgery. Additionally, the app will offer helpful resources on what to expect during your

surgical journey, as well as guidance on managing post-surgical care and coping with the
recovery process. By sharing your experience, you contribute directly to improving
surgical practices and reducing complications at every stage of the process—from
preoperative preparation to post-surgical care. Your insights are crucial in shaping safer,
higher-quality surgical procedures for future patients.
Participation is voluntary, confidential, and approved by ethical standards. SAFEST is
funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.
