ChargeSafe Surveyor

Charge Safe is a cross-platform iOS and Android mobile application built for field surveyors conducting on-site inspections of electric vehicle charging locations. The app is purpose-built for a structured, end-to-end assessment workflow - from job discovery in the field through to submission of findings to the central platform.
Surveyors access the app once their account has been created.
The job discovery experience is built around an interactive Map box map showing all available survey locations as color-coded pins. Surveyors can filter by proximity, browse site details, and claim jobs directly from the map. Each claimed job is locked to that surveyor for 48 hours, after which it is automatically returned to the available pool if not completed. Surveyors can hold multiple claimed jobs simultaneously and use the built-in route planner to optimize the order in which they visit sites, with navigation handing off to the device's native maps application for turn-by-turn directions.
The assessment form is the core of the app experience. It is structured into clearly defined sections covering the full range of inspection criteria - including physical accessibility, bay dimensions, charger ergonomics, signage, lighting, safety environment, facilities, and payment functionality. Each section contains a set of questions configured by the Admin team, with a variety of answer input types to suit different kinds of observations. Surveyors can answer yes or no questions with a single tap, select from star rating options for subjective assessments, enter numeric values for measurable fields, and capture photographic evidence directly within the form. A manual numeric entry is available for any measurement field.
The form tracks progress across sections and auto-saves answers at regular intervals, so work is never lost if the surveyor closes the app or loses connectivity mid-assessment. Required fields are validated before submission, and surveyors are prompted to complete any outstanding mandatory questions before the assessment can be sent.
Once submitted, the assessment is received by the Admin portal where it is automatically scored against the platform's configurable criteria scoring system, converting answers into weighted percentage scores and star ratings across multiple categories. The resulting scores feed into report cards that are reviewed and published by the Admin team to the relevant charge point operator.
The app also includes a feedback and support channel, allowing surveyors to raise bug reports, feature requests, or site access issues directly from within the app. These submissions are routed to a dedicated tickets in the Admin dashboard, where the team can read, respond, and track resolution status. Surveyor replies are delivered back into the app's ticket history, keeping the communication loop closed without requiring external tools.
The app is built with React Native (Expo) for cross-platform compatibility across iOS and Android devices, with a clean, high-contrast interface designed for outdoor use in variable lighting conditions.
