Check your phone's IR blaster, send test signals & detect remote control IR LEDs
IR Blaster Tester is a hardware diagnostic utility designed to check if your Android phone has a built-in infrared (IR) transmitter, test IR signal transmission, and verify physical TV and AC remote controls using your camera.
Whether you want to verify if your device can function as a universal remote, diagnose why your TV remote isn’t responding, or inspect carrier frequencies, IR Blaster Tester provides fast, accurate, on-device diagnostic tools.
KEY FEATURES
🔍 1. Automatic IR Blaster Detection
• Instantly scans hardware and system capabilities (ConsumerIrManager & PackageManager).
• Clear status indicator: Supported, Not Supported, or Hardware Unavailable.
• Displays supported carrier frequency ranges (e.g., 30 kHz – 60 kHz) reported by your phone's emitter.
📡 2. IR Signal Transmission Tester
• Send safe, predefined infrared pulses to test your phone’s IR emitter.
• Select from standard carrier frequencies: 30 kHz, 33 kHz, 36 kHz, 38 kHz, 40 kHz, 56 kHz, or enter a custom frequency.
• Predefined test patterns: Short Pulse, Medium Pulse, Long Pulse, and Standard NEC test preamble.
• Real-time animated transmission feedback.
📷 3. Camera IR Remote Detector
• Human eyes cannot see infrared light, but many smartphone cameras can detect near-infrared wavelengths.
• Point any physical TV, AC, or set-top box remote at your phone’s camera and press any button.
• Real-time optical computer vision analyzes frame luminance to detect rapid LED blinking.
• Ambient calibration eliminates false positives from room lighting.
• Dynamic confidence scoring (High / Medium / Low) with live optical activity waveform.
📺 4. Physical Remote Test Mode
• Dedicated guided workflow to check if your physical remote control has working batteries and emits infrared light.
• Interactive start/stop detection with a structured troubleshooting guide for weak remotes.
🎮 5. Generic Built-in Remote Testing
• Test generic consumer electronics commands across popular categories: TV, Air Conditioner (AC), Set-Top Box, DVD, and Audio.
• Transmits standard 32-bit NEC protocol signals with tactile haptic feedback.
📊 6. Comprehensive Device Diagnostics & Test History
• Full hardware breakdown: Manufacturer, Model, Brand, Android Version, API Level, and Camera subsystem availability.
• Export or copy a complete diagnostic report with one tap.
• Persistent local test history to review previous diagnostic results.
IMPORTANT HARDWARE & ACCURACY NOTICES
• Hardware Requirement for IR Transmission: Sending IR signals requires a phone with a built-in infrared blaster hardware module. This app cannot add an IR emitter to devices that lack the physical hardware.
• Devices Without an IR Blaster: If your phone does not have an IR emitter, you can still use the Camera IR Test and Remote Test features to test physical remote controls.
• Camera Detection Disclaimer: Camera IR detection is an optical indication only and does not measure exact wavelength, carrier frequency, or protocol. Some smartphone cameras feature strong optical IR-cut filters that block near-infrared light; switching between rear and front cameras is recommended if no signal is observed.
• Transmission Verification: Signal transmission confirmation indicates that your device successfully executed the transmission command. Actual reception depends on line-of-sight and device compatibility.
PRIVACY & DATA SAFETY
• 100% Offline-First: IR Blaster Tester works entirely offline.
• No Data Collection: No personal data, diagnostic reports, or usage metrics are collected, stored externally, or sold.
• Camera Privacy: Camera frames are analyzed entirely in real-time in temporary volatile memory on your device. Camera images are never recorded, saved to disk, or uploaded.
• Zero Advertising / Zero Trackers: No third-party ad networks or analytic SDKs.
