Anthi Chanda is the traditional Indian board game your family has played for generations — the 5×5 cowrie shell race known across India as Chowka Bhara, Chowka Bara, Ashta Chamma, Ashta Kashte, Daayam and Thaayam. Now on your phone, beautifully made, and ready whenever you are.

No dice here. You toss four cowrie shells and count the mouths that land face up. Four pawns each, 2 to 4 players, one centre square to reach. Learn it in a single game, argue about it for years.

🐚 THE COWRIE THROW
Chanda — all four mouths up — moves you 4 and gives you another throw.
Anthi — all four face down — moves you a mighty 8, and throws again.
Everything else moves you 1, 2 or 3. Luck deals the throw. Skill decides the pawn.

⚔️ CUT YOUR OPPONENT
Land exactly on an opponent's pawn and it goes all the way back to the start. Nothing in this game feels better. But mind the home squares and the centre — pawns resting there can never be cut.

🎯 REACH THE CENTRE
Race the outer ring, then turn inward. You have to land on the centre exactly, so the last few steps are the hardest of the game. Circle the inner ring and wait for the throw you need.
