HOW IT WORKS

Enable the Gesture Pilot accessibility service (required to perform system gestures — the only Android-sanctioned way).
Grant camera access.
Start the service and control your phone with hand movements. A persistent notification is shown while it runs.

The camera is active only while the service runs. Pause any time to save battery.
