Traditional Tamil games in 3D – Pallanguzhi, Goli, Kabaddi, racing and more

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Rumble Dug brings the games of Tamil streets, courtyards, village grounds and festivals to your phone – eleven traditional games rebuilt in 3D, playable in English or Tamil.

THE GAMES

• Pallanguzhi – Count, sow and collect seeds on a carved wooden board. Play the computer, pass the phone to a friend, or meet online.
• Goli – Flick glass marbles on a sunlit temple lane. Knock them out of the ring or sink into the pit and hunt the rest. Up to four players online.
• Pambaram – Wind the string and throw a lacquered wooden top into a chalk circle. Nine courtyard challenges and online circles of up to four.
• 7 Stones (Ezhu Kal) – Topple the stacked stones with a soft ball, then restack them before the fielders tag your team out.
• Gilli Danda – Flick the gilli out of the groove, tap it into the air and strike it across the village ground. Eight field challenges and innings against the computer.
• Nondi – Toss a stone into a chalk court and hop through on one leg. Twelve levels, matches against the computer and two players on one device.
• Kabaddi – Tamil Nadu's state game under festival lights. Hold your breath, chant "kabaddi, kabaddi", touch a defender and race home – or link arms and stop the raider. Seven-a-side with a village league.
• Jallikattu – Embrace the hump of a garlanded bull as it bursts from the vadivasal and hold on through a Pongal festival season. The bull is never harmed – if it shakes you off, the bull wins.
• Mandadi – An arcade catamaran race inspired by Tamil Nadu's coastal sailing traditions.
• Oosi Valaivu – Car racing through ghat hairpin bends, tea estates, a seaside highway and temple-town festival streets at night. Race the computer, chase your ghost or race up to eight players online.
• Kaatru Saalai – A highway motorbike race past paddy fields, the coast and misty ghats. Dodge traffic, shove rivals and build your career. (Bloodless fiction – ride safely in real life!)

PLAY YOUR WAY

• Practice offline against the computer – no internet needed
