MySpeed (TRAI) Android

MySpeed (TRAI)

App allows to measure your data speed experience and sends the results to TRAI

Features & Capabilities

MySpeed (TRAI) is a Chrome extension designed to let users measure their mobile data speed experience directly and send detailed, anonymous reports to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). It collects essential network information such as data speed, coverage, device, and location to help TRAI better understand real-world network performance.

This tool protects user privacy by not sending any personal information with the reports. While it shares valuable data for regulatory purposes, submitting your speed report to TRAI through MySpeed does not replace filing a complaint if you experience poor network service—users should still contact their service providers in such cases. Compatible with Android 4.3 and up, MySpeed (TRAI) empowers users to contribute to improving mobile network quality across India.

User Reviews

Many users report that MySpeed (TRAI) app shows inaccurate and misleading network speed results that do not reflect actual internet performance. The app often displays unrealistically high speeds, leading to mistrust and dissatisfaction. Additionally, users encounter bugs, unresponsive UI elements, and poor packet loss reporting. Despite this, the app does provide carrier detection and signal strength readings with some accuracy and serves as a government-backed tool for monitoring network providers, though its usefulness is diminished by its reliability issues.
Pros
  • Monitors and compares network operators as intended by TRAI
  • Detects SIM carrier and signal strength with some accuracy
  • Provides a government-endorsed option for network speed testing
  • Initial versions were accurate according to some users
  • Facilitates user awareness about carrier performance
Cons
  • Speed test results are inaccurate or do not reflect actual network speeds
  • App displays misleading high speeds not matching real usage experience
  • Frequent bugs affecting functionality, such as unresponsive or stuck speedometers
  • Inability to detect SIM carrier or network provider correctly on some devices
  • Consumes excessive power causing battery drain
  • User interface and background optimization need improvement
  • Possible manipulation or tampering suspected affecting test accuracy
  • Packet loss detection is poor or incorrect

The worst aap i have ever downloaded. It caused a serious problem in my mobile as after its usage for the 1st time the phone shuts down unexpectedly and then undergone autorestart many times and after 15 mins the phone managed itself to restart...not going to install this app ever again which is more worse than a virus.
