BUILT FOR THE REAL EXAM
Since 1 January 2024, every new and renewing Illinois notary must complete an approved course and pass a 50-question final examination given by the course provider. The pass mark is 85 percent, at least 43 of 50 correct (14 Ill. Adm. Code 176.235), and the exam may include true or false items. Illinois publishes no official time limit, so the in-app mock uses a clearly-labelled unofficial practice format of 50 questions in 60 minutes.
