Reviewers often find Sortwell useful for quickly sorting confusing plastics, and appreciate its explanations, which can build their recycling knowledge. However, some users object to its use of AI, and multiple reviewers want saved scan history. Reports of scanning errors and inconsistent results also raise reliability concerns.

Pros

Easy to use and can save time when identifying recyclables.
Detailed explanations clarify what features to look for and help users learn to sort on their own.
Several reviewers say it works well and helps confirm the right category.

Cons

Some users object to the app’s use of AI, seeing it as inconsistent with Ridwell’s environmental mission.
Users want a way to save scans and refer back to them later.
Some report unreliable performance, including scan errors or different results for the same item.

I listened to the lve stream training but missed the beginning of the video. Tried to watch it on line but couldn't find it.

I'm bummed this, of all apps, uses AI to respond to inquiries. The use of the resource-hogging, jobs-eliminating AI seems counter to Ridwell's mission of "creat[ing] a brighter future."
