Rev: Recorder & Transcription

Built so what you record stays recorded.

A source who agreed to talk once. A witness interview in a holding room. A research interview six hours from the office. A client meeting in a basement conference room. When you hit record on something that matters, you only get one shot — and it matters most in exactly the places your phone says No Service.

Rev is a voice recorder built for people who do their most important work away from a desk. Start a recording and it keeps going: through a dead zone, an incoming call, an alarm, a notification, or switching apps to check a name. Audio saves to your phone as it's captured rather than streaming to a server, so losing signal never means losing the recording. When you're back online, it uploads on its own.

Then it becomes something you can use. Your recording is transcribed automatically and lands in your Rev account as a searchable transcript with speakers attributed, ready to analyze with a question or a template. It's the same account and files you use on desktop.

FOR LEGAL PROFESSIONALS AND INVESTIGATORS
Record witness interviews, client intakes, and statements on the device you already carry. Holding rooms, courthouses, long sessions, and interruptions are the normal case, not the edge case. Turn a recording into a synopsis, timeline, or case note from a template.

FOR JOURNALISTS AND PODCASTERS
An interview recorder that holds up on the street, in a car, at a press conference, or on a phone call. Record offline and get a searchable, speaker-attributed transcript before you file.

FOR RESEARCHERS AND ACADEMICS
Fieldwork, site visits, study interviews, and lectures — captured reliably somewhere with no connection, then transcribed and searchable without a separate step.

FOR CONSULTANTS AND TEAMS
Client meetings, site work, and calls, with AI summaries, transcripts you can ask questions of, and secure sharing with the people who need them.

WHY OFFLINE MATTERS
Many transcription apps stream audio to the cloud as you speak. Lose the connection and transcription stops — sometimes taking the recording with it. Rev writes to your device first and treats the upload as a separate step that can retry. The recording is safe before the network is ever involved.

If your most important conversations happen in rooms, cars, and hallways instead of at a desk, this is built for you.
