User Reviews

RetroArch Plus is praised for its versatility as an all-in-one emulator and good PS1/PSP and classic-system support, making it a strong front-end for emulation. However, users repeatedly report a cluttered UI, stability problems including crashes, and serious touchscreen/overlay and binding issues that hinder play. Missing ROM search for external storage and inconsistent performance on newer titles or on weaker hardware are common drawbacks. Overall, powerful but with UX and reliability concerns.
Pros
  • All-in-one emulator/front-end with broad core support
  • Strong support for PS1/PSP and classic systems (GBC/SNES)
  • Reliable front-end for emulation and a go-to option for many users
Cons
  • UI/UX is confusing and not user-friendly
  • Crashes and stability issues
  • Touchscreen controls/overlay problems and broken controller bindings
  • Missing ROM management features like external ROM search
  • Performance variability on newer games or less capable devices

RetroArch on Android has some of the worst settings management I’ve ever dealt with on an emulator. The app constantly fails to save UI changes and configuration settings properly, especially on newer Samsung devices. You spend 20 minutes customizing menus, drivers, overlays, and themes just for everything to randomly reset after restarting the app. The interface is extremely confusing for normal users. Important settings are buried under endless menus with poor explanations
