By playing a low-frequency sound (hum) through a stereo speaker, you make it vibrate and create a bilateral tactile stimulation. This is a cheaper alternative to conventional EMDR tappers/buzzers, and what makes this app stand out from others.

The hum sound doesn't work well with headphones, as it is too low frequency. For headphones, use the beep sound instead — with that you can achieve auditory and visual bilateral stimulation.
