The mobile application "Senior in the Network" is an information tool of the Rzeszów Senior Center, including an element of the "Senior Information Center" created in the city.

Thanks to the cooperation with other media and institutions in our Application, readers will be able to obtain information from many sources. "Senior in the Web" is a daily portion of news in one place. It is also an important element of our cooperation with the younger generation.

The application meets the needs of improving communication and information as well as respect and integration of the Rzeszów community. These are, from the Seniors' point of view, the key aspects of their longest activity, independence and participation in private and organized social life.

By solving the identified problems, we have the ambition to achieve the assumptions of the "Seniors-Friendly City" program and to support the city authorities in the process of applying to the World Health Organization (WHO) network of age-friendly cities, and then to develop activities within the Global Network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communes WHO.

Our activities are aimed at creating a positive image of the older part of our city's inhabitants through:
• Developing and nurturing active aging as an opportunity for successful aging;
• Stimulating personal development as well as intellectual and physical fitness;
• Maintaining and / or extending participation in culture and society as a way to prevent loneliness and social isolation;
• Support for organizing specialist psychological, therapeutic, preventive and legal help;
• Promotion of health and shaping a healthy lifestyle;
• Strengthening intergenerational social bonds.

Disseminating knowledge about the needs, rights and opportunities of older people strengthens the influence of Seniors on decisions made by local authorities, including the quality of services intended for seniors.
We want to make the aging of the society a catalyst for positive changes in our city. Rzeszów has to work out individual solutions. In addition, it is necessary to define specific actions and areas of intervention in the field of comprehensive adaptation of the city to the aging of its inhabitants.

When planning activities for seniors, it is necessary to create a formal and organizational framework that would give actual attitudes to the creation and implementation of the senior policy in Rzeszów. The basis for these activities should be the Rzeszów Senior Policy Program developed by the city authorities, based on the document adopted by the Council of Ministers on October 26, 2018. The initiator of the described activities is the Association "Creative Senior in Rzeszów" established in 2020, which obtained funds for this purpose from the Rzeszów City Hall and the National Institute of Freedom - Center for the Development of Civil Society under the NEW FIO Program.

Rzeszów Council of Seniors, Urban Lab - City of Rzeszów, Association "Podkarpacki Cluster of Health and Prevention".
