Apparently, when they declared bankruptcy and shut everything down, that meant that ALL of their users who "PURCHASED" movies through them also lost access. Thankfully I hadn't purchased many on this platform. But for others, this is going to represent a significant financial loss. With no way to recover. Buy physical copies.

2024-07-17	Ar*****	This was a great company after Blockbuster disappeared. They recently filed for bankruptcy and I really wasn't surprised, their model doesn't work in the recent world anymore. The movies were outdated, it was getting expensive, and most movies and shows could be found in any streaming service. It's been probably almost two years since I rented a DVD from here. I think it's kind of sad since I like holding real DVDs and having physical copies of movies I love. Just waiting for their sale... 😔

The movies were outdated, it was getting expensive, and most movies and shows could be found in any streaming service. It's been probably almost two years since I rented a DVD from here. 2024-07-11	En*****	Redbox recently filed for bankruptcy and the app stopped working. Their online moving streaming was slow to release compared to Amazon and they had limited choices. Many of the streaming movies were included in HBO Max, Netflix, Amazon, and Disney/Hulu streaming and non rental streaming platforms. The nearest physical red box used to be a few blocks away, now I would have need to drive about 8 miles one way and then 8 miles back. That would make it 32 miles of driving to rent and return a DVD.

2023-10-12	Jo*****	Ads, ads, and more ads. Don't bother with streaming. They'll just play you a bunch of ads. Had it eternally buffering during a set of ads. Quit the program and come back, and then it shows me 2+ minutes of ads followed by 3 seconds of show followed by ANOTHER 2+ minutes of ads. Then I had a timer go off and misclicked on it and ended up in the clock app, which stopped streaming and meant another 2+ minutes of ads. 22 minutes of watching and over 6 minutes was ads. I'd rather pay for the show.

I can browse the available movies, watch trailers and decide which movies I want to rent or buy from the convenience of my home (or anywhere!) I also like the stream for free selections. I just wish I could do the same from my smart tv. For some reason the mobile app is different than the one on my TV...??

2022-03-21	Je*****	Your app won't play movies on my Samsung TV!! Yes, I SAID TV! Every 10 seconds, has to stop and buffer or something. My TV has a direct cable to my Internet modem, and I have 1 Gig speed. Other apps on my TV work just fine! And there's no slowness issue. Even made sure my TV was the only thing connected to my modem and still issue existed. Ran a speed test, I'm getting the 1 gig speed I'm paying for.

I have since found the promos for 50 cents off etc in the app. Thank you for the response, Redbox! I hate the fact that being homebound means I lose out on all the specials. none of the coupons work when streaming, so I have to go out of my way to drive to a kiosk. Coupons should be available for streaming as well. I would use the service a lot more if I could.

You pay a little more then going to the kiosk, but that's the price you pay for convenience. All in all I've been satisfied with they're service. Annoying, but I would just go in to the app and my phone settings to block the notifications again. Now they want access to bluetooth too, UNINSTALLED. If it streamed I understand, but no streaming so it's kicked off my island. Update: they want me to send a more detailed description than what I included above; here's an idea, address my concerns as stated above.

Here's the scenario: I start the app, find a nearby location, select some movies, add them to my cart, then try to check out. It prompts me to log in, despit e the fact that I should be logged in already. I log in, and guess what? All the movies I tested are gone from my cart. Filters to show Blu-ray discs for purchase are also broken. Redbox, please test your app.
