Review summary

Users consistently praise RecipeSage for its powerful recipe importer, free/no‑ads model, cross‑device sync and easy sharing, and an overall simple, well‑organised interface. Common complaints focus on limited shopping‑list/meal‑planner capabilities, occasional crashes and login/session issues, a need for UI polish, and the lack of built‑in recipe categories.
Pros
  • Powerful web importer/clipper that pulls recipes from many sites (including easy import from Pepperplate).
  • Completely free to use with no ads or paywalls; optional donations to support development.
  • Syncs across devices (web + mobile) and makes sharing recipes with family/simple collaborators easy.
  • Simple, intuitive interface with good organization tools (labels/tags) and an all‑in‑one feature set: recipe keeper, shopping list, and meal planner.
Cons
  • Shopping list and meal‑planner features are limited — users want categories, better organization, and measurement conversion/customization.
  • Occasional stability issues: crashes, tabs crashing, and annoying session/login persistence problems.
  • UI needs polish and better discoverability (some actions are hard to find; layout/navigation could improve).
  • Missing native recipe categories (many users rely on labels as a workaround).

I installed this app few days ago. Finally, its an app whitch I can share with my daughter, and its very useful. My sugestion is that ingredients field should be formated as table with at least tree columns: Ingredient; Quantity; Unit. However, I like it.

For a completely free app, this one has everything you need to keep recipes: good UI, importing, meal planning, shopping list importing, works on any device... If I were to gripe about something, it's that it can't save more than one image, and the image quality is HORRIBLE. I understand the issue may be that a free app doesn't pay for storage, but wow, the images are thumbnail quality at best, even when viewed on a PC.
