Reboku – EPUB Reader

Reboku is an eBook reader with a reading engine built from scratch, for one purpose: to show your books exactly as they are — clean, faithful, beautiful.

■ Supported formats (these four only)
• EPUB — both reflowable and fixed-layout
• CBZ — comics / image books: a ComicInfo.xml inside the archive is read — title, series, author, year and language go into your library, the page marked FrontCover becomes the cover, page bookmarks become a table of contents, and a book marked right-to-left opens that way
• PDF — text PDFs support selection, search, highlighting and read-aloud; scanned PDFs read as images
• TXT — plain-text novels: the encoding (UTF-8/Big5/GBK…) and the chapter/paragraph structure are detected for you, then it highlights, searches and reads aloud like any EPUB

■ Three ways to turn the page
• Paged (real column pagination), Scroll, and Scroll-page — switch any time
• A 9-zone touch grid: bind a single tap and a double tap per zone from 20+ actions (page turn, contents, search, highlights, read aloud, auto page turn…), and drag the grid lines wherever you like
• Volume-key paging, external-keyboard shortcuts, timed auto page turn

■ Typography you control — CJK done properly
• Font size, typeface (bring your own font files), line height, margins, borders
• One-tap vertical/horizontal writing, full right-to-left (RTL) support
• Custom header/footer content and colours, chapter start/end rules
• Simplified-Chinese books can display in Traditional automatically (titles and text together), with a per-book override

■ Built for every screen and every pair of eyes
• Colour mode plus three e-ink modes (the pure-B&W mode really is black and white — no grey pretending to be contrast)
• Pick your accent colour and the whole interface follows
• Tablets and large screens get an optimised layout; landscape can show two-page spreads for fixed-layout books
• Interface text scales independently, and the screen can stay awake while you read

■ Highlights and notes
• Highlighter: fill plus outline / underline / wavy underline / strike-through / wavy strike, in any colour, with your own colour library
• Add a note to any highlight, browse them in a list, tap to jump there with a flash cue
• Selection bar: copy, read aloud, highlight, dictionary, search in book, search the web
• Our "lollipop" selection handles can turn into a magnifier so you can see exactly which character you grabbed (size and zoom adjustable)

■ Read aloud with your phone's own voices
• Sentence-by-sentence, with the current sentence marked and followed automatically; keeps going with the screen off or back in the library
• Choose a voice per language (Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean…), with one-tap chips for the languages you use
• The book's language is detected from its content, so an English book gets an English voice and one voice lasts the whole session
• Sleep timer (minutes or chapters), back-2 / next-1 sentence, speech rate, lock-screen controls
• In PDFs only the body is read: running headers, footers and invisible text are skipped

■ A library that stays tidy
• Nested shelves, drag ordering, cross-shelf multi-select, two-level sorting, three views, title/author search
• Re-imported duplicates merge automatically; import a whole folder at once
• Keep books on internal storage or an SD card, and move them all later
• Browse and download from OPDS catalogues
• Full-text search, bookmarks, reading progress and resume position

■ Private and offline
• Reading is entirely offline; your books and your progress stay on your device
• No tracking, no account required
• Free with ads (Google AdMob); a monthly subscription (7-day free trial) or a one-time purchase unlocks the full version (no ads, no library or shelf limits)

• Android 7.0 and up — smooth even on older phones
