Rasderb — Moroccan Card Games

Rasderb (راس الدرب, also written رأس الدرب, «Ras Derb») is the neighbourhood café in your pocket: the eight games Moroccans actually play, with the real cards, the real rules and the words we say at the table.

THE GAMES
• Belote — the classic, with the bidding, the declarations and the belote call. Four seats, two teams.
• Ronda — capture, the «wahed» and the «bkhamsa», the missa on the Spanish deck, scored with sticks and pebbles. 2 to 4 players.
• Rami — sets and runs, Simple or Tallage, with jokers. Arrange your hand with a finger, like cards in your hand.
• Hez 2 — the shedding game: the ace that plays again, the sota, the 12 that makes the next player sit out, the 2s that grow the pot.
• Dames — Moroccan checkers on an 8×8 board, with the huff rule.
• Touti — bidding and ghna, four players in two teams.
• Domino — the café classic, 2 to 4 players.
• Pool — Moroccan café pool: reds, yellows and the black, «two shots» after a foul, and the black played direct, indirect or 7-8. Real physics, and even a 3D view from behind the cue ball.

LHAJ QEDDOUR AND LALLA ASSIA
At the tables against the bots, Lhaj Qeddour or Lalla Assia talk to you in Darija: they cheer, they grumble, and they keep count of who beat whom. Choose who talks to you, and who sits in the other chairs.

PLAY OFFLINE, ANY TIME
Every game works with no internet and no account. The bots play at four levels, from Beginner to Expert, and offer to step up or down as your matches go. Your first game is dealt short so you can learn the table before a full match.

PLAY WITH FRIENDS
Open a table, send the link on WhatsApp, and your friends sit down on their own phones. Talk with live voice while you play, and watch the match again later in the table's ledger. Add the people you play with, see who is at a table right now, and call them to yours.

THE MONTHLY LEAGUE
Online matches count on the honour board, and every month crowns its master.

BUILT FOR MOROCCO
• Darija first, and also Arabic, French and English.
• Authentic Spanish-deck and French-deck cards, a warm café design, light by day and dark at night, following your phone.
• Smooth on modest Android phones.
• A community board where players discuss the rules of each region.

FREE, AND ONLY THE GAMES
No money, no betting, no prizes: just the games we grew up with, and the people we play them with.
