Spotel uses the spot price of electricity as the basis for its calculations. The spot price is the price that the electricity companies buy their electricity for, hour by hour.
This means that the price of electricity can be very low during certain periods, for example when there is an abundance of wind or solar energy, and higher during other periods, such as during high demand on cold winter days.

For consumers, spot price contracts can be financially beneficial during periods of low prices, but they also carry a risk as the price can rise sharply at other times. This often requires the consumer to be more aware of their electricity use and possibly adjust their behavior based on current electricity prices.

The energy consumption of a washing machine varies depending on the model, age, washing program and usage pattern. But here are some general guidelines:

Energy efficiency

Standard wash

Older models
Older washing machines (made before energy efficiency standards became stricter) can consume significantly more than modern models, sometimes up to 2 kWh or more per wash cycle.

Looking at these numbers, one can conclude that many electric cars, especially those that will be released to the market after 2020, have battery capacities between 40 and 100 kWh. But this is a broad estimate, and there are many models with both smaller and larger batteries.

To get an exact figure for a specific car, you should check the car's specifications or owner's manual.

It's also worth noting that you rarely charge a car battery from 0% to 100%. Many electric car owners charge their cars when they have between 20% and 80% charge left, which can be more gentle on battery life. In addition, actual conditions, such as weather and driving behavior, can affect how many kWh are actually needed for a charge.
