Staff a deep-sea current station and toggle valves A, B, and C for signed biases against a sine-wave tide. The needle rides a horizontal track, and combinations—not continuous holding—steer the flow with each switch. Counter the oscillation and keep the reading in the green lane through rising and falling swell. Wide tides on later levels punish slow valve choices. Balance the current long enough to complete the watch and hold the next sea station through stronger swells and sharper swings. Switch valves with intent, counter each swell, and finish the balance hold before the tide swing grows wider.
