ResistVice

resistVice is an Android protection app for people who want stronger barriers against harmful online triggers. It now supports two website categories: betting and adult content. You can enable either category or both, then keep your settings protected with cooldown delays and optional uninstall friction.

WHAT YOU CAN BLOCK (ANDROID)

• Optional remote list refresh from backend overlays

These blocklist sizes are approximate and can change as lists are updated.

HOW PROTECTION WORKS
resistVice uses Android VPN-based DNS filtering to block configured categories at the domain level. You choose:
• Block betting websites
• Block adult websites
• Or enable both

You can also enable:
• Delay uninstalls (adds uninstall friction)
• Cooldown delays before protection can be fully turned off

VPN-BASED PROTECTION (IMPORTANT)
resistVice uses an on-device VPN connection (Android VpnService) to block access to betting and adult-content websites.

This VPN is used only to enforce blocking rules. It is not a general browsing VPN, does not provide anonymization, and is not used as a proxy service. It works locally on your device to:
• Block access to configured harmful domains
• Prevent access to restricted content in real time
• Restore and maintain protection after device restarts (when permissions/settings allow)

The VPN connection is required for DNS-level filtering so blocked websites cannot be accessed through standard browser flows.

TRUTH & LIMITS
Blocking depends on device, browser, and network conditions. Some apps or encrypted DNS/tunnel setups may bypass standard DNS blocking. Feature behavior can vary by Android version/device. See in-app Terms and Privacy for details.
