Pulse Sequence

Pulse Sequence - a memory game built around a grid of four nodes that light up one after another. Each round starts with a short sequence played back on the field, and the same order has to be repeated by tapping the nodes. Every completed round adds one more step to the sequence, so the pattern grows longer with every step forward. Points are added at the end of each round and depend on how long the current sequence is, so later rounds are worth more than the first ones. A wrong tap ends the run at once: the node is marked in red, the screen shakes and the final result appears with the option to start again or return to the menu. The counters at the top of the game screen show the current round and the total points of the run. The best result, the number of finished runs and the highest round reached are kept on the device and survive a restart. The progress screen collects six achievements tied to real events of a run, such as finishing the first round, reaching round five or ten, playing ten or fifty runs and passing five hundred points; closed items stay dimmed until their condition is met. Settings hold a difficulty switch with three positions that change the playback speed of the sequence and apply to the next run, a toggle for screen effects, the current best result with a reset next to it and a full progress reset. A pause control is available at any moment of a run and freezes timers, animations and input until the run is resumed, restarted or left. The rules screen explains the flow in a few lines, and the whole game works offline in portrait orientation.
