User Reviews

Users appreciate the app's rich and responsive visualizations, affordability, and active developer support. The app works well on several Android TV devices and phones. However, many users report major issues syncing visuals to music after Nvidia Shield OS updates, with the app failing to respond to external audio sources or casted content. Lack of display for track information and control over visualization speed frustrates users. Frequent crashes and necessity of microphone input further disrupt usability. Despite excellent visuals, these consistent problems impair the core functionality, especially on Nvidia Shield devices with newer OS versions.
Pros
  • Fantastic visuals with many to choose from.
  • Generally responsive and well maintained app with active developer support.
  • Compatible with various devices including Nvidia Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, and Android phones.
  • Affordable price considering the features offered.
  • Stable performance on certain devices when configured properly (e.g., texture size and FPS).
Cons
  • Fails to sync visuals to music on newer Nvidia Shield Android TV updates, making music response ineffective.
  • Only works with internal audio input; external audio sources or casting often do not trigger visualizers correctly.
  • Lacks track and artist information display when using apps like Spotify, Plex, or Emby.
  • Frequent crashes, especially on Nvidia Shield during usage or when Android TV menu overlays open.
  • Visualizations run too fast with no user control on speed or intensity, which can be disorienting and unsuitable for some users.
  • Requires microphone access for audio input, causing sync and usability issues; cannot directly read audio from media players.
  • Some visualizations appear broken or cause a black/white screen for brief moments.

Runs at a very low frame rate and does not sync up to the beat very well

This is a fantastic app but it no longer works with the latest shield updates. As others have mentioned, the visuals play but as if it is on mute, no sync to what’s playing. Makes it useless for now. Shame. 5 stars if they update but until then…
