PrivacyFileShare: QR Transfer

Hand someone a file by scanning a QR code. No phone number. No email address. No account, unless you want one.

PrivacyFileShare is for the moment when you need to give someone a file but not your contact details. The print shop counter. A classmate. A customer at your desk. Someone you just met and will not message again.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open the app and pick the files you want to send.
2. The person receiving shows their QR code.
3. Scan it, and the files are on their way.

Nothing to type. No number to exchange. No group to add anyone to.

Sending to the same person again? You do not need the camera at all. Anyone you have sent to before is in your list, and you can search for a username directly.

BUILT FOR PRINT AND XEROX SHOPS

Every print shop has the same problem: customers need to get a document to the counter, and the only ways are WhatsApp, email, or a pen drive. All three mean handing over a phone number or an email address, and all three leave the file sitting in someone's chat history afterwards.

With PrivacyFileShare the shop displays one QR code on the counter. The customer opens the app, picks their document, scans the code, and it arrives. The file then clears itself out on a timer. No number exchanged in either direction, no chat thread left behind, no pen drive passed across a counter.

NO PHONE NUMBER, NO EMAIL

Recipients see your username. That is all they see. Your email address and phone number are never shown to the person you are sending to, and there is nothing for them to save to their contacts.

GUEST MODE

Send and receive without making an account at all. Open the app, scan, send. Guest transfers clear after download or about ten minutes.

FILES THAT DELETE THEMSELVES

Signed-in users choose how long a transfer lives, from five minutes up to 48 hours. When the timer runs out the file is removed from the server. Deleting a file you sent removes it for the recipient too.

WORKS ON YOUR COMPUTER TOO

Scan a QR code to open your account in a browser and download what you have been sent, straight to your desktop. Linked browser sessions are listed in the app, and you can log any of them out from your phone at any time.

HONEST ABOUT SECURITY

Files are encrypted in transit and deleted on a schedule, and we do not show your email or phone number to anyone you send to. We do not claim to be end-to-end encrypted, because we are not — building that properly is on the roadmap, and we would rather say so than put a word in a store listing that is not true yet.
