Dam Clan: Beaver Colony Sim

Your clan has settled beside a creek. Chomp trees, dig mud, haul stone, and raise a dam across the water. Then hold it: the current never stops wearing at your wall, and the pond only fills if it stands.

A colony sim where every beaver is an individual. Seven trades to assign, from foragers and lumberjacks to builders, guards and researchers, and each beaver gets better at the job it does. A master builder takes ninety days to make and one bad flood to lose. Feed them, house them in lodges, and let the kits grow up.

BUILD AND HOLD THE DAM
Five wall types, from stick walls to stone cores and spillways. Where you place each section matters: the middle takes the floods, the ends take the logging crew. Every section erodes daily and costs upkeep, and repairs stall if the store runs dry.

MANAGE THE VALLEY
Twenty-four trees stand on every river and the ones you fell must grow back before you can cut again. Strip the forest and there is no wood. Base building, resource management and forestry, all on one screen you can watch work.

RESEARCH AND GROW
Twenty-eight discoveries across three tiers: mud packing, stone masonry, fish weirs, log flumes, spillways, tail-slap alarms, kit nurseries and expeditions upriver. Kits arrive when food, housing and morale allow. Wanderers join. Raids can drag a beaver off for a fortnight.

SURVIVE THE RIVER
Storms, flash floods, droughts, lightning, ice jams, rival clans, a fur trapper, a logging crew, otters after your food, a bear, and something in the deep water. Guards, scouts, camouflage, flood channels and spillways blunt them. Good days come too: salmon runs, windfalls, gifts from the town.

MOVE UPSTREAM
Six hand-built rivers, each with its own rule. Reedy banks with no stone. Otter country. Storm country, where lightning splits your wall. A town downstream that brings tourists and loggers. Then endless rivers beyond: a frozen reach where winter lasts twice as long, a warband fork, a bear run.

FOUR PAINTED SEASONS
Spring melt tears at the wall, summer dries the river, autumn stocks the store, winter freezes it solid. Every season has its own hand-painted valley.
