User Reviews

The Prepear app is valued for its long history, broad recipe library, and meal-planning capabilities, with many users enjoying adding personal recipes and using the free version. However, it has widespread reliability and UX problems: sign-in glitches and login frequency, crashes after updates that can erase data, UI elements blocked by device navigation bars, data/account losses, and contentious pricing with auto-renewals. These issues appear across multiple reviews, driving some users to seek alternatives unless fixes stabilize the app.

Pros

Long-running app with years of use and a loyal user base.
Large, community-driven library of recipes from many contributors.
Effective meal planning and easy organization of personal recipes.
Ability to add your own recipes and access external recipes.
Free version provides solid functionality.

Cons

Frequent login/sign-in issues, with buttons hidden or blocked by device navigation bars.
Crashes and instability after updates, including loss of work when saving or creating recipes.
Data loss or account problems, with recipes or meal plans disappearing.
UI/UX problems where the app's controls are obscured by the device's bottom/navigation bars.
Subscription pricing, auto-renewals, and refunds issues, plus perceived devaluation of features.

Re***** 2026-08-15

I haven't used the app because it has crashed every time I tried to open it. I have used the website which is great and having the app would be even better. I certainly wouldn't upgrade to premium if the app won't even work enough for me to try it.
