Overview

Features & Capabilities

An ordinary tuner stops at "A4, five cents sharp". For a harmonica that is not enough: the same A4 is hole 3 draw bent two semitones on a C harp, and elsewhere entirely on another key.

This app turns the note it hears back into what you do with your mouth: which hole, blow or draw, how many steps of bend.

[Tuner]

· 14 diatonic keys (Low F, G, Ab, A, Bb, B, C, Db, D, Eb, E, F, F#, High G)
· Reference pitch from 430 to 450 Hz, for ensembles that tune to 442.
· Note names in C4 (tuner standard) or C3 (GarageBand, Logic). Same sound, two names — match what you already read and never convert in your head.
· Every position that produces the note. On a C harp, G4 is both hole 2 draw and hole 3 blow; showing one would be wrong half the time.
· Bend steps in the notation players write: 3' is one semitone, 3'' is two.
· The reading holds after the sound stops, so a short note does not flash past.
· A trail behind the needle shows whether a bend is held steady or drifting.
· Positions that do not bend a full semitone — hole 5 draw, hole 7 blow — are marked.
· A keyboard mode for single-note scales and melodies (no chords).
· English, Japanese and Korean, switchable in settings.

[Recording]

· Keeps going with the screen off — putting the phone down is what practice looks like.
· Saves lossless WAV. Compression is a one-way door; re-analysing later needs the original.
· Records with automatic gain control and noise suppression off. Those are tuned for speech and flatten pitch and dynamics.
· The pitch trace is stored alongside the audio as you play.
· A call pauses the take and saves it; recording continues by itself afterwards.

[Practice log]

· Play back and delete from the list. Export a take as M4A or WAV to messaging, mail, a drive or a file. Drag the bar to a passage, or line it up while paused.
· Name your takes and sheets. Takes carry a note too — what to work on next.
· The pitch contour is drawn above the seek bar, so you can point at the phrase you want instead of hunting for it by ear.
· Practice time counts sound actually played: an hour of tape holding ten minutes is ten minutes.

[Analysis]

Every figure comes from held notes, not attacks and breaths.

· Intonation — cents off per note, the median, and how much landed in tune
· Long tones — the steadiest note held over a second, and its wobble
· Bends — whether the target was reached, and by how many cents it missed

A note counts as a bend only when bending is the only way to produce it. If it can be played straight too, there is no telling which you did, and calling a well-played note a failed bend is worse than silence.

Link a take to a tab and it lines the two up, naming the note you played instead of the one written. Miss one and the rest of the piece is not counted wrong with it.

Practise the same tab and every attempt appears in one line, marked only when you beat your own best outright. Ups and downs across a few days are not reported as progress or decline.

[Sheets]

· Bring in your own scores as PDF or photos. Zoom re-renders at 1x/2x/3x, so staff lines stay sharp.
· Write harmonica tabs yourself: a number is blow, - is draw, ' is a bend.
· As you type, the tab is read back as notes on your harp key, and unplayable positions are flagged on the spot — hole 5 draw does not bend a full semitone.
· Imported scores and recordings stay on this device. No file or note is handed to the advertising SDK.

[Ads]

A small banner appears at the bottom of the log and sheet lists. No ads in the tuner, while recording or playing back, in the sheet viewer or the tab editor. A one-time ad removal purchase in settings keeps the same Google Play account ad free.

[Privacy]

No account, no sign-in. Recordings, pitch traces, notes and sheets stay on the device. A small Google banner appears in the log and sheet lists; serving it may process IP address, app interactions, diagnostics and device identifiers. Where required, a privacy choice screen appears before any ad request.
