Paperlight: Doc & Receipt Scan

Paperlight scans documents and receipts on your phone, reads their text on the device, and keeps everything there. No account, no sign-up, no cloud you didn't choose.

SCAN AND IMPORT
• Google's document scanner finds the page edges, straightens and cleans each page
• Multi-page documents, up to 20 pages per scan
• Import photos or PDFs, or share them to Paperlight from any other app
• Edit any page: rotate, crop, enhance, grayscale or black and white

SEARCHABLE PDF
• Text is recognised on the device, without an internet connection
• Export PDFs with an invisible text layer, so you can search, select and copy text in any PDF reader
• Search your library by title, by the words inside a scan, or by amount

RECEIPTS AND EXPENSES
• Paperlight spots receipts and invoices and fills in merchant, date, total, tax and currency for you to check
• Reads payment QR codes for exact values: EPC/GiroCode (SEPA), Swiss QR-bill and Portuguese invoice QR codes
• Flags a receipt you already scanned, so nothing gets claimed twice
• Monthly totals in the library, with filters for receipts and documents
• Export a date range to CSV or Excel (.xlsx), with the PDFs alongside, ready for your accountant or expense report

SEND IT WHERE YOU WANT
• Upload to Nextcloud, ownCloud, Synology or any WebDAV server, with optional year and month folders
• Send scans straight to Paperless-ngx with title and date
• Book receipts in Firefly III with the PDF attached
• Email a scan to an expense inbox in one tap
• Automatic uploads, on Wi-Fi only if you prefer; passwords stay in Android's encrypted storage

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Scans stay in the app's private storage until you share or upload them
• Back up your whole library to one file and restore it on a new phone
• Light and dark themes
• No account, no watermark, no page limit, no paywall
• One small banner ad keeps the app free

Text recognition supports Latin-script languages, Chinese and Devanagari (Hindi). Arabic text is not recognised yet; the app itself is available in Arabic.
