Plyplan is a cut list optimizer for woodworking: it turns a list of parts into cutting diagrams for plywood sheets and lumber boards, then walks you through every cut at the saw.

PLAN
Enter each part's length, width and quantity on a keypad made for inches with fractions down to 1/32", or in millimetres. Lock the grain direction on the parts that need it. Add the sheet and board sizes you buy, with their prices if you like. Or open one of six examples, from a bookcase to a workbench, and see a plan come together first.

LAY OUT
The sheet cutting optimizer runs on your device and packs the parts onto as few sheets and boards as it can, allowing for the saw kerf and an edge trim. Choose the fewest sheets, or cuts that are easier to make.

CUT
Cut mode shows every cut in order with the fence setting in large type: rips and crosscuts on sheets, stop settings on boards. Parts are ticked off in the diagram as they come off the saw.

FINISH
After the last cut, see what the build took and share a picture of it. A workshop log on your device keeps every build, with badges along the way.

BUY AND PRINT
The shopping list says how many sheets and boards to buy, leaving out the ones you have on hand, and what they cost. Print the parts, every sheet with its cut list, and the shopping list as a PDF.

YOUR PROJECTS STAY YOURS
Projects are stored on your device and work without an account. Sign in with Apple, Google or email and they sync to your other phones, tablets and the web app at plyplan.com/app.
