Pros

Automatically detects speed limits and displays an overlay with the current speed and the limit on top of maps (including Google Maps).
Allows setting a custom speed-limit alert threshold.
Overlay can be shown on top of Google Maps and per-app exclusions to reduce interruptions.
Provides a useful driving aid by giving speed information beyond standard maps.

Cons

Speed limit data is not always accurate or in sync with Google Maps or road signs, causing mismatches on many roads.
Auto-launch and startup settings often revert or override themselves, making reliable auto-start difficult.
The overlay can pop up over other apps and fails to save per-app exclusion settings, which can be annoying during use.
Not compatible with Android Auto / car mode, so the overlay can’t be used on the car display.

lately the posted speed limit has been blank most of the time. sometimes it will show the limit, more often than not it doesn't. i assume it's a problem with the open speed limits database, but it is the only issue with this very useful app

it could be perfect. but the developer seem to have moved on to other things is this hasn't been updated since December of 2020 including the GitHub itself. hopefully somebody smarter than me will take it over and keep it running or create their own from it
